Simple Signer is freeware. That's right, NO COST to you ever. No limitations. You can donate if you want, but that's certainly not required.

OPERATING ENVIRONMENT:
To use Simple Signer you must be running the IBM Lotus Notes client Release 6.0 or later, however it should be able to operate on Notes databases from earlier releases.


THE DESIGN PHILOSOPHY OF SIMPLE SIGNER:
Often, a simple application solution is quite good enough, rather than an application with many features and options. This is particularly true fir a task that you carry out perhaps only once or perhaps so infrequently that you forget all about how you did it last time!

Simple Signer was so designed: to be "dead easy" to deploy, manage and use. Just extract the database into your Notes data directory, open it, and and it's immediately ready to use.

The Lotus Domino Administrator client and some third party utilities certainly can perform the signing of Notes databases as one of their many functions. However even if you have it installed you still might prefer to use the Simple Signer for this one function. Naturally enough, the Simple Signer will come into its own on those many occasions when you don't have the Domino Administrator client installed on a workstation.


WHAT CAN YOU DO WITH SIMPLE SIGNER?
Via a simple interface, firstly (if desired) select a different Notes user ID that is to be used for signing, next select the database that is to be signed (local, or on a Lotus Domino server), and finally click a button to initiate the signing process. Full details are found in the Simple Signer User Guide and the built-in "Help Using This Database" document.

WHAT IS PROVIDED IN THE DOWNLOAD:
The Simple Signer database is provided, fully functional and with no restrictions as to how you use it.

REQUESTING ENHANCEMENTS TO SIMPLE SIGNER:
We might make some enhancements to the Simple Signer freeware, and will consider adding small features that you might suggest. The key determinant is that any such requests must be of a generally-applicable nature. We want to avoid falling into the trap of creeping featurism. Therefore any new features must comply with our overall concept that the freeware version of Simple Signer must remain a simple and easy-to-use application. (Also, the requests must not put a burden on our limited development resources. Remember that after all Simple Signer is freeware, and we'll need to be very selective about which of your requests to implement as freeware!)

This is a self-extracting zipped file that yields the Simple Signer database, which you place in your Lotus Notes data directory. There's no complicated installation procedure. Just open the extracted Simple Signer database and, in a matter of seconds, you can start signing Lotus Notes databases!
